Leo Orea, a Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) instructor who hosts lessons at the FCT, was recently featured in an interview and Arnis demonstration held at the Philippine Consulate General, as part of the Toronto Catholic District School Board's Philippine Heritage Month Celebration.
The hour long event began with greetings from Garry Tanuan (TCDSB Trustee), Orontes V. Castro (Consul General at the Philippine Consulate), and Angela Kennedy (TCDSB Chair of the Board) in celebration of Filipino culture and heritage. Leo Orea, an official representative of Arnis Kinse Teros Toronto and fifth degree black belt in these martial arts, was interviewed by Jesse Panem, and then hosted a demonstration of his martial arts skills with students from Madonna Catholic Secondary School.
