Hello, I'm Nickole, a dedicated intern therapist at Larô Therapy, and I'm thrilled to connect with the Filipino Center community. We share a commitment to embracing, respecting, and celebrating Filipino culture in our work, and I'm excited to extend my services to you.
I'm currently open to accepting clients aged 11 and above for individual online therapy across Ontario. My passion lies in supporting Filipino-Canadian children of immigrants and neurodivergent individuals (such as those with Autism or ADHD). My focus revolves around helping you navigate mental health concerns that are specific to our community, including social isolation, acculturation stress, cultural and generational clashes, family dynamics, the pressure to excel, and more.

Canadian Immigrant Fair: Greater Toronto Region
Just a reminder, one week to go until the Canadian Immigrant Fair makes its final stop in Mississauga, on November 9th!
Held at the Living Arts Centre, steps from Square One (4141 Living Arts Dr), the Canadian Immigrant Fair is a free, one-stop event connecting newcomers with information and inspiration on the three pillars of immigrant success: Careers, Education and Settlement.
The fair offers a dynamic environment for immigrants who need help as they look for jobs, go back to school and settle into their new home. In addition, we are thrilled to offer our always popular resume critiquing one-on-one sessions and our exciting line up of speakers happening throughout the day. And be sure to stop by the Koodo Mobile booth for a FREE Sim card and exclusive offer!
Our mission is to connect these newcomers with the employers, recruiters, immigrant service providers, educational institutes, and government services that can help them on their journey to success in Canada.

Personal Support Worker Needed!
Are you a compassionate, kind, and cheerful individual with prior experience in a long-term care setting? We are seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our team.
Responsibilities:

Assist in transporting my 86-year-old father throughout the third and main floors of our facility.

Support with mealtime and engage in friendly conversations.
-
Display patience and kindness, as our father resides in a new long-term care home located in the Finch and 400 highway area.

Perform laundry duties in our state-of-the-art laundry room on the third floor (each floor has its laundry facilities).

Candidates with knowledge of Italian or familiarity with Italian phrases will be preferred.
Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, from noon to 6:00 pm.

You'll be working with a delightful and respectful 84-year-old man.

Your work will be on the same floor where my mother resides in a separate room. While my mother is self-sufficient and doesn't require personal assistance, the PSW role will help alleviate some of her caregiving responsibilities.

Bridge to Healthcare Alternatives Online Program
We are excited to announce about B2HCA November session. Please feel free to disseminate the following information among your clients and contacts, who may benefit from it:
The Bridge to Healthcare Alternatives (B2HCA) is a free-of-charge program that helps internationally educated healthcare professionals with alternative career paths to support their healthcare experience, and to gain entry into the Canadian labour market.
The program is delivered online, accessible 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. There are scheduled facilitator-led workshops and group discussions held daily from Monday to Friday for 3 weeks in duration. Online workshops feature healthcare best practices, customer service in patient care, Canadian workplace culture, healthcare communication, and current job search techniques and strategies. Further, participants are supported by linking with an experienced health care professional mentor while receiving ongoing coaching and job search support.
Eligibility requirements for the program are as follows:
• Permanent Resident, Convention Refugee, Live-In Caregiver or have arrived under the Canada-Ukraine authorization for emergency travel (CUAET)
• Internationally Educated Professional with a recognized degree in healthcare or related field
• Have a minimum of two years of work experience in healthcare outside of Canada
• English Language Level equal to CLB 7
• Resides in York, Toronto, or Peel region
The new session will run from November 6 to November 24, 2023.
